“They understood what made our brand valuable, then gave it a clearer, sharper identity without losing its character.”
Lymington Harbour Commissioners manage a busy harbour at the western gateway to the Solent, known for its strong connection with sailing and maritime life. The brief for CiD was to refresh the brand without losing the character that had become part of the harbour over time. For this marine project, our branding agency worked across flags, vessel livery, signage, stationery and print, giving the harbour a more contemporary presence without losing the maritime heritage people already recognised.
Running a harbour means speaking to very different audiences at once. The identity had to carry authority across statutory signage, safety information and navigation, while still welcoming visiting sailors and complementing Lymington’s Georgian high street. Our marine graphic design brought both sides together, giving operational communications the clarity they needed without making the harbour feel overly corporate.
The refreshed identity needed to feel like a natural part of everyday life at Lymington Harbour. It now runs across flags, crew uniforms, vessel markings, wayfinding and printed collateral, then carries into seasonal campaigns, sailing school offers, direct mail and marine brochure design. The nautical branding gives Lymington Harbour a consistent presence while keeping the character and history that make the place recognisable.
