Bolton Studios

Chelsea Bolt-Holes

Bolton Studios are a unique collection of 27 residential units strung together like pearls, situated in a quiet, secluded oasis in the heart of Chelsea. Originally designed as a series of annexes for the large homes on Gilston Road, the studios were created in the 19th century in the adjoining back gardens, hidden from view behind a discrete entrance façade, to serve the numerous artists in the area. Working with Savills and Strutt & Parker for the Realstar Group, CiD were invited to design the sales brochure, website and to supervise and instruct local and interior photography and a series of CGIs.

Layflat design

To reflect the modern studio apartments and the bright ambient daylight interiors CiD created a square, layflat brochure and a cover design in strong refreshing colours aimed at maximising impact for the launch of the studios and to draw attention to one of the Boltons’ hidden gems.

Art direction

Completed, ‘dressed’ apartment interiors were available for professional photography which CiD supervised for all apartment types. The concierge area and entrances, however, were incomplete and required rendering to the same level. CiD commissioned and art directed four CGIs and ensured that the development themes of fine art and modernist design remained at the heart of the design.
